Onkar Hayer has been capturing life’s beautiful moments since he was 21. His interest in photography started when his uncle gifted him with a Nikon FM 10 camera in 2005. He became the neighborhood photographer and started capturing the world around him whenever he had the chance, including weddings and events in and around his village. His interest in photography and films took him to the Jaspal Bhatti Film School where he honed his skills with the camera. As his passion for photography and film grew so did his name recognition with a big fan following in Punjab and North India. In 2009 his love for photography and travel took him to England, where he temporarily settled down and began increasing his experience and credentials in the world of film and photography. Onkar also enhanced his knowledge and experience by directing music videos.He has done wedding photography for celebrities such as Monty panaser (cricketer in the England Team) as well as Sofia Hayat (an actress/model/singer/former nun who has worked on many British and Indian projects). He established his own photography company (Onkar Hayer Photography) in 2011 and continued to seek out any opportunity he could to travel and take pictures. That passion to travel and photograph life brought him to Canada in 2014. He has done over 400 wedding shoots and has helped establish strong portfolios for Jyotii Sethi (a model that is now working as an actress) and Tanisha Dhillon (Miss Asian Manitoba 2016). He not only likes to take pictures himself but to also help other aspiring photographers become better at their passion. He has done four photography workshops in various cities in India in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015. Some of his other interests besides photography and film include: Travel, food, long drives, music and travelling to/searching out new locations (for photography ofcourse!). A couple of the projects that Onkar is currently involved A short Punjabi feature film produced by Buta Hayer. So far Onkar has travelled to 9 countries and over 100 cities for wedding photography. He loves to take pictures with concepts and excels at taking the simplest moments and making them into the most beautiful memories. His future aspirations include becoming a well-known wedding photographer in North America and to eventually do a feature film in Hindi or Punjabi.
